Where keys spawn

Most keys are world drops: ordinary floor loot, care packages and world spawn crates. On Erangel they also appear inside the glowing pots in residential compounds. Deston is the exception — its keycards spawn at marked points, which is why it is the only map you can route before the plane.

One key, one room

The key is consumed on use. Carry two if you plan to hit a second room, and check squad inventories before you commit to a reroute.

Expect company

Doors stay open once unlocked and the sound carries. Clear the compound first, loot second, and leave by a different exit than the one you came in through.
